The Ardus is a new multi-family residential rental property located in the River North neighborhood of Chicago. Booth Hansen worked with the developer, Cedar Street, to create a residence that would appeal to young tenants with a combination of affordable efficiency units and a prime location. A six-story office building was completely renovated and connected to the new eight-story structure. Six duplex units, built over the existing structure, feature private terraces.
Special consideration was made to repurpose interior elements, including tapered columns on the main level. Metal panel cladding and window wall systems provide a modern look to the mid-rise building, blending into the surrounding urban environment.
Building amenities include a tenant lounge, fitness room, outdoor deck, and dog run. The ground floor contains 10,000 SF for three retail spaces, as well as a juice bar that will be open to the public. A small amount of underground parking is available.
