Booth Hansen is proud to share the recent feature of our Lincoln Park adaptive reuse project in Modern Steel Construction. Working with Ogden Partners, we transformed the historic Second Church of Christ, Scientist—originally designed by Solon S. Beman in 1901—into a new residential development that preserves three original limestone and granite facades, provides a modern worship space, and introduces 22 new apartments.

Faced with structural and spatial challenges unique to urban infill and historic preservation, our team collaborated with Thornton Tomasetti to develop innovative steel solutions that balanced seismic demands, programming shifts, and sensitive site constraints. The project exemplifies our commitment to creative problem-solving and thoughtful urban density—breathing new life into a treasured neighborhood landmark.
