Chad Hanley is a Technical Director and joined Booth Hansen in 2002. Chad leads the internal Technical Review Committee which is an internal project review process as well as a learning session for all architects.  He is an essential part of every project as he provides his expertise to project teams and reviews all documents for accuracy, constructability, and quality control. He oversees specification production and coordination for the firm in all project types, and is a firm resource regarding code, materiality, sustainability, and best practices to ensure efficient and practical solutions.   

Since joining Booth Hansen, Chad’s work has included the nation’s largest non-military dining facility, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Illinois Street Residences Dining + Student Center, the multi-year adaptive reuse of the Palmolive Building containing 97 custom units, 850 North Lake Shore Drive renovation, the 1400 Monroe luxury multi-family residence, University of Illinois Chicago Computer, Design, Research, and Learning Center, as well as other highly technical and detail oriented projects. Chad’s experience also includes the renovation of the historic Three Arts Club into Restoration Hardware’s flagship Chicago Gallery and the Learning Center at the Chicago Botanic Garden which achieved LEED Platinum certification. His attention to detail is a key factor in the success of these projects.  

Chad earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University and is a registered Architect in the State of Illinois.
