Opportunity: The Chicago Botanic Garden required a comprehensive update to its original master plan, to respond to present and future programming needs.
Solution: The Garden’s expanding educational mission and programmatic offerings inspired the Master Plan to renovate and repurpose some existing spaces, as well as introduce new facilities. Thus far, implementation of the Plan has included the major renovation of the Regenstein Center, a new Children’s Learning Center, and a reconfigured Administration Building. The Garden’s new science campus will be anchored by the 35,000 square foot Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Center.
Value: As one of the premier Botanic institutions in the world, the Botanic Garden continues to emphasize their expanding mission in research and education. This new master plan will guide the physical implementation of their vision.
