Urban Apartment

Opportunity: Most interiors develop from a “gathering” mindset that results in a variety of objects and forms that contrast and conflict within a balanced sensibility. Another mindset is “carving,” which results in a harmonic experience within an architecture such as the Palmolive Building. This apartment seeks to advance a harmonic spirit with seamless, balanced, and connected furniture and architecture.

Solution: The design for this space was developed from a large scale, three-dimensional model allowing the harmonic character and spirit to be achieved.

Value: A quiet, yet energetic experience provides an example of what the German artists called Gesamtkunstwerk, or “a total work of art.”
