Booth Hansen Designed Nobu Hotel/Restaurant Unveiled

A proposal for the world’s first “ground-up” Nobu Hotel & Restaurant was presented at a community meeting in the West Loop on Tuesday June 10th, 2014.  The hotel, planned by the Nobu Hospitality Group, spearheaded by Chef Nobu, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper, is to be located on the northeast corner of Randolph Street and Peoria Street in the West Loop and is tentatively set to open in 2016.
The 12 floor, 155 room luxury boutique hotel will feature a Nobu restaurant on the ground floor and a lounge on the rooftop. The building’s design features brick, steel, and large grid windows that evoke the area’s industrial history and aesthetic.
The building must be approved by the city before construction can commence, but the plan was met mostly with approval from West Loop residents and businesses at the community meeting.
